Technology Transfer Office (TTO) at BCIL successfully transferred a very promising technology “A Process for Preparation of Para-menthane-3,8-diols Enriched Citronella Oil," developed at the BRIC- National Agri-Food Biomanufacturing Institute (BRIC-NABI), Mohali. This technology involves preparation of a natural, low-cost broad-spectrum insect repellent which is effective against mosquitoes and other insects including agricultural insects. The use of PMD as insect repellent has been authorized by USEPA and EU. It has been developed by Dr. Bhuwan Mishra, Scientist D, BRIC-NABI, and his team and transferred to M/s Suraj Shree Chemicals Limited, Delhi, a pioneer in the area of bio fertilizers, biological inputs, animal feed and organic pesticides. The licensing ceremony took place in the gracious presence of Professor Ashwani Pareek, Executive Director, BRIC-NABI, Dr. Purnima Sharma, Managing Director of BCIL, inventors and other scientists from BRIC-NABI
