The Directors of the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) under the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI), executed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with BCIL. The MoA was executed in the presence of Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Government of India, Dr. Vineet Joshi, Secretary, MoE, Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Secretary, Department of Science & Technology (DST), Prof. Anil Dattatraya Sahasrabudhe, Chairman Executive Committee, National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and Dr. Shekhar C. Mande, former Secretary, DSIR and DG, CSIR and Chairman, BCIL.
The event was attended by Directors of all IISERs, heads of leading national institutions, Dr. Purnima Sharma, Managing Director, BCIL, senior officials from the MoE including Ms. Saumya Gupta, Joint Secretary (TE), and Mr. Priyank Chaturvedi, Director (Science, IIITs & IISERs).
The MoA establishes a structured framework to extend professional services to IISERs for innovation management, technology transfer, industry collaboration, capacity building, creation of startups and spin-offs etc to enhance outcomes of translational research for wider socio-economic impact.
